Day 1 - Austin to Big Bend National Park

Put the miles in unlimited miles and head straight for Big Bend National Park. Use each of your three days to hit the three main areas of the park - Chisos Basin, Ross Maxwell Scenic Drive, and Rio Grande Village

Explore Big Bend National Park

The drive here from Austin is a hefty 7 hours, so enjoy the sights, roll into camp and wind down for the night.

Day 2 - Campsite to Ross Maxwell Scenic Drive

30 miles of drive time and more than a handful of worthy stops and sights all at your fingertips.

Explore the Scenic Drive

See the sights from behind the wheel, or pull off at any and every scenic viewpoint. If you do decide to stop, we recommend the Lower Burro Mesa Pour Off, Santa Elena Canyon and Tuff Canyon - to name a few. There’s a few small hikes scattered throughout here that you can take, or pick a spot to set up for lunch with a view.

Day 3 - Chisos Basin to Rio Grande Village

The other two areas of the park will bring you more vistas, hiking trails and diverse terrain

Explore Chisos Basin and Rio Grande Village

Chisos is Big Bend’s personal mountain range - with plenty of hiking trails. Take your pick; Window Trail and Lost Mine Trail are great moderate trails to start with. To wrap up an activity-filled day, take a dip in the Rio Grande Hot Springs.

Day 4 - Big Bend National Park to Austin

Make your slow return back to Austin, about 3.5hrs to round out your Cabana mobile stay.

Why stop here? There's so much more to explore.
