Drive 4 hours to Hood River where you can get out into nature while also having the feel of a cozy small town with all the necessities, amazing breweries and more.
Stop at Oregon's tallest waterfall, Multnomah Falls, before grabbing dinner and drinks at one of the many local breweries - pFriem Family Brewers or Ferment Brewing Company are both great choices.
Make your way south on a 3 hour drive from Hood River by passing through Mt. Hood National Forest along the way to one of Oregon's outdoor paradise's.
Make your way to Mt. Bachelor for a morning hike on top of a volcano. The strenuous 6.5 mile hike rewards those who summit with amazing views of the Two Sisters as well as Broken Top to the north. After completing the hike in the early afternoon, head back into Bend for a cool down along the river and a much needed meal.
After stopping at Sparrow Bakery in Bend, head back toward Portland for an early afternoon coffee and stroll along the Willamette River.
