It’s only an hour’s drive standing between you & the laid-back, recreation-ridden town of Marble Falls. You’ll set up camp minutes away from town, along the Colorado River.
Grab some food & craft beer/wine in town, or bring it back to your campsite for a relaxing dinner by a campfire, under the stars.
Start your morning with a 2 mile hike along the Rimrock Trail. Have some coffee by the van to admire the scenery before heading 1.5hrs to Fredericksburg for a day trip.
On the drive to Fredericksburg, you’ll pass a handful of wineries. Make your own little winery tour along the way. Once you’re in the town of Fredericksburg, walk down Main Street, grab a bite at Emma + Ollie, and then head to the Enchanted Rock State Natural Area for a sweet sunset.
Check out one of many museums in town before hitting the road back to Austin.
You have about a 2 hour drive back, so take in the sights, make some stops, and revel in the feeling behind the wheel. Be sure to stop at Dripping Springs on your way back.
