This Mojave Desert park is filled with red Aztec sandstone, if you stay for a sunset the brilliant red rocks will show you where the park gets its name. Drive the Scenic Byway, an 11 mile road through the park connects the east and west entrances and allows you to see the park’s best sights.
Start your morning with breakfast at the campsite. Get up early to catch views of the with the brightening sun reflecting across Rainbow Vista and illuminating the landscape in a pinky orange glow. This 1 mile hiking trail is an easy stop along the scenic byway. Next you'll head to Zion National Park!
Explore and wade through the Virgin River flowing through the Narrows, the narrowest part of Zion Canyon. You can hike in the river for an hour and have a great experience, or you can hike as far as Big Spring, a strenuous, ten-mile round trip, all-day adventure.
Two trails to check out are Angels Landing Trail and The Grotto Trailhead to West Rim. Angels landing is the most popular trail in the park, it's 4.4 miles and features a series of strenuous switchbacks for 1,600 ft of elevation gain ending with a view of the main canyon below. Begin at The Grotto Picnic Area and follow the West Rim Trail along the Virgin River.
Ascend beyond the Angels Landing viewing point to complete the West Rim Trail. A challenging 9 mile trail that includes 3,000 ft of elevation gain, you'll have a birds eye view of Angels Landing, Scouts Overlook, as well as the canyon valley below.
Catch sunset at one of the most highly photographed spots is of the park's most iconic peak, the Watchman, walking distance from the visitor's center, it's right off Canyon Junction Bridge.
Visit Toquerville Falls, a series of winding waterfalls that have carved out swimming holes perfect for a refreshing start to your day. Head to Kolob Canyon for more red rock wonder!
Hike Timbercreek Trail, a relatively easy one mile jaunt with spectacular views of the Kolob Canyons, the Kolob Terrace, and the Pine Valley Mountains.
See the geologic formation of the Karraville Fold, explore less old but historic homestead cabins built in the early 1930s, and arrive at the Double Arch Alcove after hiking the 5.5 mile trail of Taylor Creek.
Drive from the visitor center along Kolob Canyons Scenic Drive, without stopping, the drive only takes about 30 minutes. However, you'll likely see too many epic photo stops during the cruise for it to wrap up that quickly!
Right outside of Glen Canyon, in the little town of Page, AZ, is iconic Horseshoe Bend. Here you can catch a glimpse the Colorado River whipping 270 degrees through a steep horseshoe shaped canyon. A can't miss stop along this route!
Visit Antelope Canyon, where a duo of tall, winding, sandstone walls parallel to each other catch the sunlight and produce wavelike sunbeams in the slot canyon. Guided tours are required to explore Antelope Canyon.
Hang out at Lake Powell, a man-made reservoir on the Colorado River in Utah and Arizona. Take a break from the lake by hiking the Chains, a string of scenic, easy hikes around the shores of the Lake. Perfect for photography!
Rent a boat tour to Rainbow Bridge, the 6 hour long trip will take up most of your day but is worth the travel time to see one of the largest natural bridges in the world.
For hikes and views you didn't get a chance to explore, include them on your route back for a scenic, adventure filled trek back to Los Angeles. Camping again in Death Valley State Park if you want a light day of driving on the last day of your rental.

After a relaxing morning at the campsite. Head to Glen Canyon where we first recommend walking between Rainbow and Yovimpa points to see expansive views of the entire park. Start your visit here to get the lay of the land before diving deeper into the fascinating rock formations
After seeing an overlay of the land, it's time for hiking! Park at the lot labelled "Sunset Point", here you can head to The Queen's Garden Trail which leads straight to the Navajo Loop Trail which loops back up to the rim! Enjoy dinner at i.d.k barbecue before retiring to your campsite for the night.
Spend your day leisurely driving around the park and visiting key points such as Inspiration Point, Bryce Point, Rainbow Point, and Yovimpa Point.
From Rainbow Point, visitors can look northward and clearly see the Pink Cliffs out of which the Hoodoos have been sculpted. The cliffs curve around amphitheaters carved by the headward erosion of small streams.
From Inspiration Point, visitors can look out over the Bryce Amphitheater consisting of three layers of limestone and red sandstone stacked on top of each to create a large natural amphitheater.
